O B A M A

Honestly feel proud to call myself American again. What an historic day.

...Watched and celebrated at a local bar, The Rickshaw. Paaacked.

Didn't take photos of Obama's acceptance speech, because I recorded it instead... ran outta memory! Enjoy the pics.

View from apt. 1204 again. First two are of the end of rush hour one evening (around 7-ish p.m.), and the last one is... well, you decide: fog or smog??

hello, good-bye...

The "hello" is for the autumn weather that's rushed itself into Beijing, and "good-bye" is to the lovely summer that's passed (my favorite season, by the way). Knowing Beijing, we'll be saying "good-bye" to the autumn weather all too soon as well.

Another "hello, good-bye" is to my next job (undetermined) and my non-profit job, respectively. It's actually a really sad farewell, considering I believe so much in the work that we do and the message behind how we empower youth to initiate/support social change. Maybe someday later on I'll return to work for the organization in a different capacity... but right now, I need to move on from it. The past year has been full of great experiences (and given me wonderful opportunities to take photos), and for that, I will always be thankful. But I'm also excited to see what's up next for me in life!

My last time facilitating a youth leadership and service trip -- for awhile anyway -- was in late September... the next post will be a photo from that trip, one of me and an adorable boy who's a student of Gufupu primary school in Hebei Province.

I promise the next time I update will not be a month from now.
